BROCKWAY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A man is arrested after deputies say he reportedly tried to fight people with a knife. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call for the incident at Friday afternoon in the Town of Brockway, northeast of Black River Falls.
When deputies got there, they saw a man holding a knife who was trying to shield himself near a large statue. Deputies say they knew the man due to his lengthy criminal record. They say they tried to negotiate with him to drop his weapon, but he would not surrender.
Jackson County Deputies used less-lethal rounds on the man to bring the standoff to an end. It was later learned that the suspect had called 911 on himself and had items on under his clothing to stop police tactics.
He was taken to a hospital for medical clearance. The sheriff’s office says no further details about the event will be released.
