MeTV temporary sun-outages due to Fall Equinox

If you’ve noticed your favorite MeTV shows going blank these days, or experienced occasional interruptions to your signal, don’t worry – you’re not unwittingly starring in an episode of The Twilight Zone.

What’s happening is actually a natural phenomenon known as a Sun Outage, and it happens twice a year. As you and your calendar both know, we’re heading into the equinox, and so the position of the sun, along with the radiation it emits, means that satellite signals are sometimes disturbed. It’s actually kind of cosmic.

Now, depending on your time zone, you may or may not experience a sun outage. But if you do, it should be over soon – usually within about ten minutes. These Sun Outages, should they occur, will most likely cease entirely by October 12 or so.

The peak times for potential sun-outages in our area for MeTV are:

  • 10/8 – 10/12 between 1:30 pm – 1:40 pm

For Grit, Laff, Bounce, & Court TV Mystery (formerly Escape) peak times are:

  • 10/8 – 10/12 between 1:10 pm – 1:22 pm.

At Me-TV, we deliver Memorable Entertainment Television on a daily basis, using the most advanced high-tech systems available to us. And while we’re doing everything in our power to prevent any interruption to our programming, sometimes there are larger forces at work. So, thanks for your understanding and patience. Oh, and Happy Equinox!
