Missing Altoona woman found dead

Local News

Altoona, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX)-Angela Coffield of Altoona was last seen July 29th around 8:30 p.m. Since then, authorities have been searching for the 33-year-old. Last night, deputies with the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s office were called to a field where a farmer found a body.  That body was later identified as Coffield.  Her body was found about a mile south of Eleva, off State Highway 93. An initial investigation determined *no foul play is suspected. Trempealeau County Sheriff Brett Semingson says information from the Altoona police department helped in answering questions when they arrived.

“The morning of, we had received the crime alert about the missing female from Altoona. So, we had that back of our minds, but by the nature of the call. Had we not had that information in the morning, to us, it would have been possibly homicide type of investigation.  But, as we remember that call from the morning, we had that in the back of our mind as well.” Said Sheriff Brett Semingson.  “Coffield’s vehicle was found several hundred yards from where her body was discovered.” Said Semingson.
