Missing Cumberland woman’s vehicle involved in fatal crash

CUMBERLAND, WIS. (WLAX/WEUX) – A missing Cumberland woman may have died in a crash in Douglas County.

This morning, Douglas county authorities found 43-year-old Hailey Anderson’s vehicle near the edge of Anmicon River south of superior.

The vehicle left highway 53 and crashed into the river bank.

The driver, a woman, was ejected and found dead at the crash site. Police believe that Anderson is the person who died in the crash, but official identification has not been made.

Anderson was last leaving the Turtle Lake Casino on September 16th and was reported missing on September 22nd.

Anderson was supposed to be traveling to Hibbing, Minnesota but never made it to her destination.
