ARCADIA, Wisc. (WLAX) — Officials said the Arcadia community is searching for its missing fire chief.

According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old Jeff Halvorsen has been missing for three days. He is the Arcadia-Glencoe Fire Chief.

Community members joined multiple law enforcement agencies Saturday to search for Halvorsen. A helicopter was also used as part of the search efforts.

Sheriff Brett Semingson said foul play is not suspected in the fire chief’s disappearance.

“He basically has gone missing for circumstances we don’t know,” Semingson said. “We don’t know if it’s willfully or there’s been an accident. Everyone who knows Jeff right now, we’re treating this as maybe it’s a possible accident because it’s really out of character for him.”

Halvorsen was last seen driving a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup truck with a steel cargo rack in the back. He is described as being six foot three inches tall, weighing between 220 to 230 pounds and has short hair.

Anyone with information should call the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number.
