DANE COUNTY, Wisc. (WLAX) — A man recently charged with killing his father in Dane County could soon face new charges after his mother’s remains were discovered.

Investigators are asking that a first degree murder charge, as well as charges for hiding and mutilating a corpse, be filed against Chandler Halderson in the death of his mother, Krista Halderson. Krista’s remains were found earlier this month in the Town of Roxbury, just northwest of Madison, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Department.

Chandler Halderson has already been charged with similar crimes stemming from the death of his father, Bart Halderson.

“Members are continuing to search the pond behind the Halderson’s residence in Windsor, Wisc.,” Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett said Friday. “The search and processing of Bart and Krista Halderson’s home is still on-going. Crime scene investigators worked with the Dane Co. medical examiner’s office to process the home, additional human remains have been discovered; however, those remains have yet to be identified.”

Chandler Halderson is currently being held at the Dane County Jail on $1 million cash bond.
