The first of seven ‘Food Drive Friday’ was held last Friday.

More than 15,000 pounds of food was donated by members of the community.

The food goes to The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse, who will then help to restock more than 70 food pantries and help 118 programs in five area counties.

The Hunger Task Force says they will also offer to help any food pantries in need in the area as the next closest are in Rochester and Madison.

Monetary donations are also being accepted to help purchase items in need. An anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $25,000.

Six more Food Drive Friday’s will be held.

There are two ways to donate. You can drop by one of the donation sites listed below to drop your monetary donation or donate non-perishable foods or visit The Hunger Task Force website to make a monetary donation.
