TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Authorities are identifying the man who died in a Trempealeau County crash Saturday morning. According to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, 55-year-old Daniel Sonsalla of Arcadia died at the scene.

The sheriff’s office received a call of a motorcycle versus car crash just before 11 am at the intersection of State Road 93 and County Road E in the town of Hale. Multiple motorcycles were heading north when a vehicle traveling west failed to stop at a stop sign and hit two of them.

Sonsalla was the lone driver of one motorcycle and died of his injuries. The driver and passenger of a second motorcycle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office says the driver of the vehicle said their brakes failed, which will be assessed during a mechanical inspection.
