We now know the names of the people involved in the officer-involved shooting in Eau Claire that happened Sunday night.
The suspect who was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment has been identified as Sol Victor Armer of Eau Claire. Armer is still in critical condition at a local hospital.
The officer involved in the shooting has been identified as Anthony Briski.
Armer had an active warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in court for felonies including disorderly conduct and resisting an officer. Details in the initial investigation show that two officers along with Briski responded to a report that a witness saw Armer in the area. Armer became confrontational with officers and pulled out a knife. Officers repeatedly ordered Armer to drop the knife but he refused. At first, police tried to use pepper spray and a Taser, neither worked.
Police say Briski fired his service weapon to stop Armer.
