ALTOONA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – National Drug Take BACK Day is this Saturday, October 28th. Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul visited Altoona today and announced that more than 140 events are planned across Wisconsin for Saturday.
Wisconsinites are encouraged to dispose of unwanted and unused medications at these events. Attorney General Kaul says it is important to get those medications out of your homes, “One of the ways we can fight this is by preventing prescription painkillers from being diverted or being stolen. And safe disposal is a key way that we can stop that from happening simply by taking medications from your medicine cabinet and stopping them from falling into the hands of somebody who they weren’t prescribed to. You can potentially help stop somebody from struggling with substance use disorder.”
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday you can head to Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire or Altoona Medical Services to dispose of your medications safely and easily.
