CALEDONIA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – New information from Tuesday’s shootings at two Racine County gas stations.

This started at the Pilot Travel Center in Caledonia. The suspect approached and fatally shot 22-year-old Anthony Griger of Elkhorn, as Griger was filling his car with gas.

The Racine County Sheriff says the suspect “the rummaged through” Griger’s pockets for a set of keys, but then decided he didn’t want that car.

The suspect then went to another gas station 2 miles away, where he encountered an undercover investigator pumping gas into his unmarked squad car.

The investigator was shot at least twice in an exchange of gunfire that killed the suspect.
