According Chippewa County Sheriff James Kowalczyk, officials are still looking into the cell phones of those involved with the homicides, to gather more information.
“We’re downloading those, getting search warrants for what we can’t download and I would say by the end of the week, we’ll have a pretty good closure as to all of the cell phones involved” said Kowalczyk.
Kowalczyk also talked about the investigation and its progress since the suspect is dead.
“With the perpetrator being deceased and no witnesses in regards to what happened out on Lafayette, yes our investigation is hindered. We really have no one to talk to, we have no witnesses. In fact, the shooting itself was not even heard by the immediate people in that area. So again we’re doing follow ups, taking any leads and hopefully in the not so distant future, we’ll put a closure to this case” said Kowalczyk.
