Plea hearing date for Dan Peggs set for August 20th

ALTOONA, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The plea hearing for former Altoona School District Superintendent Dan Peggs is set for August 20.

Two days ago, a deal was struck between Peggs’ attorneys and federal prosecutors.

It calls for Peggs to plead guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.

Charges of sex trafficking a minor and two other child porn counts would be dismissed.

He initially pleaded not guilty last year to all charges.

The agreement includes a recommendation that Peggs receive the maximum available reduction for acceptance of responsibility.

He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a 250- thousand dollar fine.
