Police arrest second person in connection with Sparta homicide

Sparta, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX)- A second person has been arrested in connection to the June 11 murder of Anthony Koopman in Sparta, which investigators say was drug related.  Monday afternoon, 38 year old Michael Hartmann from Milwaukee was arrested in connection to the homicide.  Hartmann was located in Butler, Wisconsin and is currently being held at the Waukesha County Jail. He is being charged with first degree intentional homicide, armed robbery and distribution of methamphetamine.

Last week, police arrested Damara Skenendore medina, also out of Milwaukee, in connection to the case.  She is charged with felony murder and armed robbery and is currently being held on a one-million-dollar bond.  The Sparta Police Department is also actively looking for 32-year-old Eric Borges of Milwaukee in connection to the case.

Police said you should not approach Borges if you see him, rather call your local law enforcement agency immediately. Investigators have been following leads showing Borges in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Texas since the murder.
