MONROE COUNTY, Wisc. (WEAU/WLAX) — A new recreational center opened recently at Fort McCoy, giving Afghan refugees housed there a sample of American fun.

New images released by the base show Afghan children playing games at the newly opened facility. The center offers a variety of activities to children such as indoor soccer, ping pong and basketball.

A second sewing center was also opened at the base after the first one was so popular with the refugees.
