Two road projects are beginning this week in Eau Claire which will mean detours and potentially longer commutes.
The first project began on Monday as Lake Street is shut down between Farwell Street and the Chippewa River bridge. This is to add a bicycle lane, widen the sidewalks, and continue utility work under the road.
It’s estimated lake street will be closed for two months.
The other road project starts Wednesday on State Street from Bartlett Court to Hamilton Ave.
It includes roundabouts at Lexington Blvd., MacArthur, and Hamilton avenues. The stretch of road is expected to be shut down until October.
