SHEBOYGAN, Wisc. (WLAX) — Some of the biggest names in golf are headed to Wisconsin for this year’s Ryder Cup.
Preparations are underway at Whistling Straights Golf Course where the golf tournament will be held in a matter of days.
After the Ryder Cub was cancelled last year, the Sheboygan golf course is “going big” as this year’s host site.
“What we’re constructing here is one of the biggest builds done for a golf event–1.3 million square feet of temporary floors and tents,” Ryder Cub Operations Manager Brandon Haney said.
Hanley, who grew up just north of Madison, said he is excited to bring the tournament to his home state.
“To be able to work a Ryder Cub is special, but to work it in my home state is even more special,” he said.
Tickets for the event are currently all sold out.
