Search continues for Chippewa Falls standoff suspect

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – An hours-long standoff in Chippewa Falls on Monday results in two arrests, but a prime suspect is still at large.

This started around 2:30 this afternoon {zoom!} In the area of the 200 Block of South Main Street. This is across the Chippewa River from downtown.

Authorities were trying to serve a warrant for 35-year-old Kane Berg, who was wanted for numerous charges.

After attempts to bring berg out proved unsuccessful, law enforcement entered the house, but berg was not found inside.

Three other people were removed, with two of them arrested on a charge each of harboring and aiding a felon.
