The state senate passed a bill this morning to dissolve the state elections board.
The G.O.P. measure dismantles the government accountability board, which oversees elections and enforces ethics laws.
The agency is currently led by six non-partisan judges. This bill would replace the GAB with two commissions made up of partisan appointees. One commission would administer elections. The other would enforce ethics laws.
The bill now goes to the state assembly for approval.
