Sheriff shares details in Rusk County meth case

RUSK COUNTY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Eleven people face drug charges following a major bust in Rusk County.

They’re charged with conspiracy to deliver and distribute methamphetamine. The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office partnered with several law enforcement agencies in both Wisconsin and Minnesota, including the Wisconsin Department of Justice on the months-long investigation.

“During the investigation, we seized 18 firearms, more than $17,000 in cash, three pounds of methamphetamine and two pounds of marijuana.,” said Sheriff Jeff Wallace of Rusk County.

Despite these charges being filed, Wallace says it’s still an open investigation.

Some of the defendants have already made initial court appearances.

However, most of them are scheduled to be in court next month.
