MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WLAX/WEAU) – The Wisconsin State Senate narrowly approved a plan today to spend nearly half a billion dollars to help the Milwaukee Brewers repair their stadium over the next three decades. The bills passed today include a new ticket tax for non-Brewers events held at the ballpark. The change means the state will pay less, bringing the total state spending to roughly $365 million over the course of the lease.

The Senate approved the legislation on a 19-14 vote, sending it to the Assembly for a Floor vote. Assembly passage would put the bill in front of Governor Tony Evers. Evers announced today (11/15/23) that he will sign the bill.
