EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Eau Claire Police have found and identified the suspect in the armed robbery of a Westconsin Credit Union on Monday. Police say Maxwell Luebeck was taken into custody by the Wisconsin State Patrol near Superior this morning.

Derek Thomas with the Eau Claire Police Department explains how the community was able to help identify the suspect, “We have to thank the public. Once we put the information out on social media, which shows the power of social media and sharing of information, relying on the public to help us out, within 18 minutes, we were able to get an identification on the suspect. Once we had that information, we were able to collaborate with multiple law enforcement agencies that assisted in the investigation.”
No injuries were reported from the robbery. According to a criminal complaint, Luebeck is charged with one count of Armed Robbery.
