A not guilty plea – by reason of mental disease or defect – was entered today by 48-year-old Christopher Knyphausen.
He’s the suspect in an officer-involved shooting at a Chippewa motel last August. Authorities say Knyphausen barricaded himself in a room at the motel and made threats to law enforcement. Knyphausen was shot during the standoff and was recovering from his injuries.
He’s being held on a $50,000 cash bond. A status conference in the case is set for March 31.
