CHIPPEWA COUNTY Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Charges have now been filed against a man accused of kidnapping a Chippewa County teenager on Saturday, triggering an amber alert. 22-year-old Trevor Blackburn of Tennessee appeared in Chippewa County court yesterday afternoon for his initial appearance.
He faces 10 felonies including kidnapping, seven counts of 1st-degree child sex assault, strangulation, and burglary. The criminal complaint says the girl told investigators she was sleeping when she heard her bedroom window open.
She said Blackburn grabbed her and pulled her through the window. He told her he had a gun and dragged her to a ditch and then into the woods where he sexually assaulted her several times.
When she woke up, he was gone, and she went to a nearby house for help. Blackburn was arrested the next day in Douglas County. Investigators say the two knew each other online, and he had been blackmailing and threatening the girl.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help to find Blackburn’s suitcase. Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk says Blackburn traveled from Tennessee with a black suitcase. Law enforcement officers believe it was left behind during the time of the alleged assault. The suitcase is expected to be around county highways D and W in the Cornell area.
If you find the suitcase, do not touch it, and call the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office.
