ST. PAUL, Min, (WLAX/WEUX) – In Minnesota, it’s a red light for some green products. That’s because regulators are finding several issues with a number of THC products.
The key regulation for THC products is how much THC per serving. No more than 5 milligrams per package. No more than 50 for food and 10 milligrams for drinks. Health inspectors have made about 80 visits so far and 4 out of 5 times they’ve found something wrong. Like synthetics being used in various products. Repeat offenders could face Cease and Desist orders and fines up to $10,000.
The Health Department plans to add 6 more inspectors – 3 times as many as there are right now. In 2025, a new office of Cannabis Management will take over all marijuana-related regulations in Minnesota.
