Threat made to Regis Middle and High School, student removed from campus

Local News

The Eau Claire Police Department was on scene at Regis Catholic Schools Tuesday following reports of a specific threat.

The threat was reported around 1 p.m.

It was directed toward Regis Middle and High schools.

The principal says the threat was made by a current Regis High School student, with plans for something to happen later this week.

He says it was other students who came forward to report the threat.

“We had some students overhear some statements that were made. It alarmed them. This information was passed along to parents, passed along to administration it came to my desk within 15 minutes of it being overheard in the hallway, at least where it took place. It came to my desk very quickly. We contacted Eau Claire Police immediately and their involvement was very fast,” said principal Paul Pedersen.

Pedersen says the student who made the threat was removed from the campus.

Police presence will be on campus in the following days.
