TOMAH, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A Tomah man is charged in connection to the death of his infant son. 21-year-old Daimon Verken is also facing charges of domestic abuse against the infant’s mother and drug-related charges.
The criminal complaint says Tomah Police and Paramedics were called to Murdoch Street on April 17th. It was for calls about an unresponsive infant. When they got there, they found the 3-month-old not breathing. The autopsy didn’t show injuries or disease. The death was reported as Sudden Unexpected Infant Death.
The infant’s mother told police Verken had been abusing her and left him as a result. Another person, who was in the home at the time, also told police Verken Had anger issues. He is out on cash bond and due in court in early January.
