TOMAH Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A Tomah business owner has been indicted on 12 counts in federal court. 44-year-old Jonathan Walker is charged with 10 counts of wire fraud and two counts of making false statements in a scheme to defraud the U.S. government.
Walker alleged his company was a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, and was awarded two government contracts from the Department of Defense totaling nearly two-million dollars.
According to the press release, Walker is neither a veteran, nor has he been injured in the line of duty. He faces up to 20 years for every wire fraud charge, and up to 5 years for the false statement charges.
