Local News

(WLAX/WEUX) – The price of postage is going up.

The United States Postal Service says it will raise rates on stamps from 55 cents to 58 cents this summer.

The US Postal Service also plans to increase prices for first-class mail, magazines and marketing mailers. It’s all part of a plan to reduce debt for the agency. It’s estimated the USPS will lose 160-billion dollars over the next ten years.

The changes are set to take effect at the end of August.
