LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – UW- La Crosse is welcoming students back to campus, but some covid protocols are still in place.

Students will need to get tested once they arrive unless they show proof of vaccination or a past positive.

UWL says 70 percent of students have been fully vaccinated, and Chancellor Joe Gow hopes the unvaccinated will follow the example of their peers.

Gow said, “People maybe if they’ve been on their own this summer have said yeah, I’ll get around to it, they’ll come back and their friends will say I got vaccinated, you should too because the sooner we all get vaccinated, the sooner we can get back to normal.”

UWL is offering a vaccination clinic from now until September 10 in an effort to get 100 percent of students vaccinated.
