UW-La Crosse, Stout & Eau Claire modify mask policies for fall semester

LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Three area universities are slightly modifying their mask policies in advance of the fall semester.

Starting Monday, face coverings will be “expected” to be worn inside buildings on campus at UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, and UW-La Crosse.

All three campuses did not use “mandate” or “requirement” in their statements. The expectation goes for staff, students, and visitors – regardless of vaccination status.

This comes after the CDC raised Eau Claire County’s case activity level to its highest transmission rate.

Dunn County’s transmission status increased from moderate to substantial.

UW-La Crosse’s expectation statement includes plans to re-install plexiglass shields around campus.
