MADISON, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Major changes across the Universities of Wisconsin. Its president announced the shutdown of a campus. And at two other locations the elimination of in-person classes. Classes will only be offered online at UW-Milwaukee at Washington County and at UW-Oshkosh in Fond du Lac.

The goal for this transition is June 2024. Meanwhile, UW-Platteville Richland will shut down entirely. The Universities’ President saying it’s due to the changing market, “We have to be consumer-oriented. And if our prospective students are telling us. They want it offered in a different way, and I think I’m again. I’m heartened by the growth in our freshman class at our four-year institutions that’s telling us what the market is driving us to.”

Rothman said students at campuses moving to online-only instruction will have the chance to enroll at other universities.
