MENOMONIE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The UW System will soon add a new resource for high school students looking for a perfect college.
A “Pre-College Pipeline Initiative” will roll out later this year at five universities – including UW-Stout.
The initiative involves 15 counselors working in about 25 high schools and community groups.
They will help guide high school students looking to enroll in one of the UW System’s campuses, especially those less likely to go to a four-year university.
Glendali Rodriguez, UW-stout interim provost said, “An area of focus for underrepresented minorities, first-generation students, students that have typically had additional struggles to access the college pipeline and really help increase the pipeline to the UW System.”
Rodriguez says the details of the program are still being worked out but adds, the hope is to have it in place by this summer.
