EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – UW-Eau Claire (UWEC) gets more funding to help out its students juggling school and parenting. A more than million-dollar grant is going towards UW-Eau Claire’s Children’s Nature Academy. This could mean a bigger discount for students who drop their kids off at the center. As they pursue that degree.
The UWEC Children’s Nature Acadamy Director, Lisa Coen, says the funds should expand access to more resources, “I think the most important message that I would like to get out is if you know a family that has someone attending UWEC, you see needs childcare, please send them our way because we really want this grant to make an impact in their lives and it will.”
A student and mother of three says the resource has made going to school easier and will be more affordable when the grant money allows for a bigger discount.
