Vernon County Sheriff’s Office announces Dax, a new K-9 employee

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office will soon have a new employee out on patrol, one with four paws.

The department is excited to announce its new K-9 Dax, a German shepherd originally from Germany.

Dax is nearing the completion of his training to be a dual-purpose patrol dog, specializing in narcotics detection, criminal apprehension and handler protection as well as tracking and article searches.

Anyone interested in meeting K-9 Dax and his handler deputy Mark Bellacero can do so on Monday, June 7 from 3 to 4pm.
