CHIPPEWA FALLS Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – With Veteran’s Day today, a special tribute was given to military servicemen and women yesterday in Chippewa Falls. Chippewa Manor hosted its annual Veterans Salute to honor local heroes.

The event featured a free drive-thru breakfast, a color guard and gun volley presentation, and live music. The salute concluded with a flyover above the manor and a presentation for new veterans on the campus.

This year, Chippewa Manor paid special tribute to congressional gold medal honoree: Raleigh Nayes from Cadott. Nayes fought behind enemy lines in southeast Asia during World War Two. He lived at the Chippewa Manor campus for six years and passed away in May. The program is scheduled to begin around 9 am. Breakfast will be from 8 to 9 am.
