LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – The La Crosse Police Department is identifying the woman found dead near a trail Saturday morning. Officials say just after 9 am Saturday, a person that was walking their dog found a woman dead in the area of the Bud Hendrickson Trail at Cunningham and Harvey streets.

The victim is identified as 45-year-old Julia Hedum. The police department says this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are asking anyone with information, or anyone that had contact with Hedum between July 15th and the 29th, to contact the La Crosse Police Department.
