LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – One university is giving student veterans a special space to help them succeed.

Viterbo University opened its new Military Aligned Student Center Tuesday.

It began a program to focus on supporting veteran students in 2017.

Its aim is to help them transition from the military into college and civilian life.

Andrew Lindell, Virterbo student Veteran said, “As a veteran here going to Viterbo, I am blown away by how much Viterbo does for its veterans, I feel greatly appreciated, not just as a person, or a student, or a veteran, but in all of those categories at the same time.”

Viterbo staff say there are more than 120 student veterans currently enrolled at the university.

The goal is to create an even larger space for veterans to utilize in the near future.
