COLFAX Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A Dunn County golf course sustained extensive damage after a tornado hit the Colfax area two nights ago. The National Weather Service classifies it as a low-end EF1 tornado with a 6.2-mile path.

Volunteers helped to clean up the Whitetail golf course in Colfax. The owner of the golf course says more than 100 trees were lost in the storm. According to the Course Superintendent, Brett Prince, the damage at two of the golf course holes is extensive.

“Pretty much everything from the fairway and in on hole 12 there’s a lot of damage. Behind 13 green, and on both sides as well. Pretty significant damage, probably going to end up losing over 100 trees just because we have to,” said Prince.

The front nine holes were open for golfing today while the back nine were closed.
