LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continue to trend downward.
According to the COVID-19 Tracking Project, Wisconsin ranks 39th in the country in new cases per capita, and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is reporting just over one thousand new cases of the virus today. This brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began to over 542-thousand. Of those cases, 95 percent of them are considered recovered with just over 19-thousand cases still active.
DHS is reporting three more people with the virus have died, the death toll in the state stands at nearly 59-hundred. In today’s report, 55 more Wisconsinites are hospitalized.
Taking a look around the state, Eau Claire County adds 24 cases for a total of nearly 10,600 in the county.
Chippewa County tacks on 21 cases for more than 68-hundred cases in the county.
Dunn County reports 14 new cases bringing its total to nearly 41-hundred.
La Crosse County adds 41 new cases, pushing the total in the county past 11-thousand-700. La Crosse County is also reporting one more person has died from the virus.
