LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Wisconsin makes progress in its vaccination efforts as close to 40 percent of people in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
In today’s report, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services says 37 percent or about two million, two hundred thousand Wisconsinites have gotten at least one shot. 24 percent or about one and a half million people in the state are now fully vaccinated.
Eau Claire County reports 28 percent of its residents have been fully vaccinated.
25 percent of Chippewa County residents are fully vaccinated.
In Dunn County, 20 % of the population is fully vaccinated and 28 percent of people in La Crosse County are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, another 569 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the state. DHS reports 97 percent are considered recovered and close to nine thousand people are dealing with an active case of the virus.
In Sunday’s report, 21 more people with COVID-19 are hospitalized and one new death is reported.
Looking at western Wisconsin, Eau Claire County reports seven new cases today. La Crosse County sees four new cases of the virus and Dunn County reports 10 new cases of COVID-19. Chippewa County is not reporting an increase.
