EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Some families found their groove in virtual learning during the pandemic.

As a result, the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District and the School District of Altoona are both providing a 100 percent virtual option for the first time.

The Eau Claire Area School District is expanding its virtual charter school for all grade levels.

Eau Claire Virtual School Principal Laura Schlichting says she is seeing a significant increase in enrollment

Schlichting said, “What we really found last year is there were families and students who found this was a good fit for them as learners. It allowed flexibility. It allowed them to explore some different options so knowing we had to continue to offer a virtual option became very clear.”

More than 80 students have already enrolled in virtual school in the Eau Claire Area School District.
