MADISON, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Loved ones were remembered and stigma was reduced today during a Wisconsin organization’s ‘Rally for Recovery’. This is the 10th year ‘Wisconsin Voices for Recovery’ held the annual event… meant to bring those touched by substance use together to support one another.
People could share their stories about recovery… learn about area resources… and ultimately reduce the stigma surrounding substance use disorders and harm reduction methods.
Desilynn Smith lost her husband to fentanyl poisoning two years ago, “So, it’s to keep pushing on in his memory and honor but to start helping other people; help another mother, help another family member know signs and recognize things they can do to help and encourage their family members.”
Today’s event also featured a ‘Hobby and Wellness for Recovery Area’ which included activities like meditation. Rock painting and a dream-catcher station
