LA CROSSE Wisc. (WLAX/WEUX) – The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse is receiving a financial boost ahead of the holiday season. Our WLAX station along with the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation donated five thousand dollars to the food bank today.
The Task Force serves more than 80 meal sites and food pantries across the Coulee region. It also offers free food to programs such as the Salvation Army and New Horizons.
Shelly Fortner of the Hunger Task Force said, “We want to make sure people are fed, especially during the fall and winter months and during the holidays, and donations like these help us do that, we can provide the food to the pantries to give to their clients.”
The Hunger Task Force is also continuing drive-up food distributions this winter.
Fortner says the next one is scheduled for mid-December.
