A new warning from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer Protection about store bought wreaths.
The department says wreaths bought from North Carolina and sold at chain stores need to be burned. Its to stop the invasive species called Elongate Hemlock Scale from spreading. The department says the wreaths should not be put on compost piles or on the curb for pickup. The insect was found in decorations with live evergreen branches sold at Menards, Home Depot, Pick ‘N’ Save, Steins, and Kmart locations across the state.
