An Elk Mound man convicted in a fatal drunk driving crash, has been sentenced.
20-year old Gunnar Zurek has been sentenced to more than six years in prison, 3 years extended supervision, and 6 years’ probation.
He pleaded guilty in September.
The crash happened in September 2014, north of Menomonie.
Investigators say Zurek was driving, when he veered into the ditch and rolled several times.
18-year old Vanessa Marsh was killed after being thrown from the car.
Deputies say alcohol was a factor.
After he completes his sentence, a Dunn county judge says Zurek must spend 24-hours in jail every year, on the anniversary of the crash.
