Man Sentenced in Connection to Child Trafficking Case

News

A local man is sentenced in connection to the case of a woman accused of trafficking children for drugs and money.

Arthur Simmons Jr., of Eau Claire, was sentenced to 25 years in jail after being found guilty of trafficking a child as a party to a crime. On another charge of repeated sexual assault of a child, Simmons was found not guilty.

The case is in connection to charges filed against Michelle Mayer, who was accused of allowing men to sexually and physically assault two children in an Eau Claire home. All charges against Mayer were dismissed earlier this year.

Simmons said he helped cut the grass and clean the pool at the Eddy Lane address, but denied any sexual contact with the children.
