The man suspected in making threats to kill estranged family members at a high school graduation ceremony has been captured.
In a statement from the Sparta Police Department, Benjamin Sidie was apprehended by the Dubuque, Iowa Police Department on Monday.
Sparta Police said Sidie made the threats over text messages and also talked about getting into a “suicide by cop” situation at the Sparta High School graduation, which was scheduled for this past Friday.
The statement said Sidie will be extradited to Wisconsin on a Department of Corrections warrant, where he could face further charges.
The Sparta School District is working on graduation details and will be released as soon as possible.
