Menomonie High on Lockdown After Threat

Menomonie High School was on a lockdown for most of the school day today after a threatening note was found in the girl’s bathroom. The message: “I’m going to shoot up this [expletive] school on 11/14” was written on a tissue and found this morning.

According to the Menomonie Police Department, officers searched the school; specifically lockers. The district administrator says it’s called a non-emergency lockdown, meaning students were required to stay in their classrooms.

According to police, students were allowed to leave in the afternoon if they had consent from a parent.

Police are still looking for the person responsible for the threat and say if you have any information to call the department.

This is the third threat at a local high school in less than a week. A threat was found at Memorial High School last Wednesday and another at Chippewa Falls High School yesterday.
