Rivers around the region are starting to fall from flood stages.
But with snow in the forecast, experts are saying community members aren’t out of the woods yet.
Experts with the National Weather Service say the forecasted wet, heavy snow later this week has enough moisture to make rivers rise again.
They also say if the precipitation falls mainly as rain, rivers would respond quickly and rise rapidly.
If most of the accumulation is snow, the rivers could rise a lot more slowly.
Flood warnings remain in place for many areas around the Mississippi river.
